3-Ingredient Slow Cooker Country-Style Ribs

3-Ingredient Slow Cooker Country-Style Ribs

Sweet, Sticky, Fall-Apart Pork on a Budget

Growing up, my dad had a way of turning the simplest, cheapest cuts of meat into something that felt like a feast. This was one of his best tricks—an easy slow cooker recipe that transforms humble country-style ribs into tender, flavorful pork that practically falls apart with a fork.

With just three ingredients, this recipe delivers rich, smoky-sweet flavor and a glossy, caramelized sauce. The ribs slowly cook in barbecue sauce and cola, creating a perfect balance of tangy, sweet, and savory. It’s the kind of “set it and forget it” meal that tastes like you spent all day cooking.

Servings:

4 servings

Ingredients:

900 g (2 lbs) country-style pork ribs

1 cup (240 ml) barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)

½ cup (120 ml) cola (regular, not diet)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the ribs

Place the ribs in the slow cooker in a single layer if possible.

2. Add the sauce

Pour the barbecue sauce evenly over the ribs, then add the cola.

No need to stir—just let everything settle around the meat.

3. Slow cook

Cook on LOW for 6–8 hours

or

Cook on HIGH for 4–5 hours

The ribs are ready when they are very tender and easily pull apart.

4. Optional finishing touch

For a thicker, stickier glaze:

Transfer ribs to a baking tray

Spoon extra sauce on top

Broil in the oven for 3–5 minutes until slightly caramelized

5. Serve and enjoy

Serve hot with plenty of sauce spooned over the top.

Serving Ideas:

With creamy coleslaw

Alongside buttered corn

With mashed or roasted potatoes

Classic combo: baked beans + soft dinner rolls or cornbread

Lighter Pairings:

Fresh green salad

Steamed green beans or vegetables

Leftover Idea:

Shred the ribs and serve on a toasted bun with extra barbecue sauce and pickles for an amazing sandwich.

Tips for Best Results:

Don’t use diet cola—it won’t caramelize the same way

Trim excess fat if needed, but leave some for flavor

If sauce is too thin, cook uncovered for 20–30 minutes on HIGH

Easy Variations:

Add garlic or onion powder for extra depth

Use spicy barbecue sauce for a kick

Swap cola with root beer for a slightly different sweetness
