Garlic Butter Salmon

Garlic Butter Salmon
Ingredients:
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz / 170g each), skin-on or skinless
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of ½ lemon (about 1 tbsp)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped (plus more for garnish)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Lemon slices, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Salmon
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
- Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
2. Sear the Salmon
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down (if skin-on).
- Sear for 4–5 minutes, until the skin is crispy and the salmon is nearly cooked through.
- Flip and cook for another 2–3 minutes on the other side.
- Transfer salmon to a plate and set aside.
3. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium.
- Add the butter and let it melt completely.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30–45 seconds, just until fragrant (don’t burn it).
- Add the lemon juice and parsley, stirring to combine.
4. Combine and Serve
- Return the salmon to the pan, spooning the garlic butter sauce over each fillet.
- Let it cook for 1–2 minutes more so the flavors meld.
- Garnish with extra parsley and fresh lemon slices.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve your garlic butter salmon with:
- Steamed vegetables or asparagus
- Mashed potatoes or rice
- A fresh green salad or roasted broccoli
Chef’s Tip:
For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of chili flakes or smoked paprika into the garlic butter before adding the salmon back to the pan.
