Beef-Stuffed Jumbo Shells with Creamy Ricotta
Ingredients
- 12 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Pasta
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the jumbo shells according to the package directions, then drain and set aside to cool slightly. - Cook the Beef
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain off any excess fat, then stir in the marinara sauce. Remove from heat. - Make the Ricotta Filling
In a bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy. - Stuff the Shells
Spoon the ricotta mixture into each cooked pasta shell and arrange them in a baking dish. - Assemble the Dish
Pour the beef–marinara mixture over the stuffed shells. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan to cover the top evenly. - Bake
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. - Serve
