Beef-Stuffed Jumbo Shells with Creamy Ricotta

Ingredients

  • 12 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pasta
    Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the jumbo shells according to the package directions, then drain and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Cook the Beef
    In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain off any excess fat, then stir in the marinara sauce. Remove from heat.
  3. Make the Ricotta Filling
    In a bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  4. Stuff the Shells
    Spoon the ricotta mixture into each cooked pasta shell and arrange them in a baking dish.
  5. Assemble the Dish
    Pour the beef–marinara mixture over the stuffed shells. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan to cover the top evenly.
  6. Bake
    Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve
    Enjoy the stuffed shells hot and fresh from the oven!
