Instructions
Make the Meat Sauce:
Brown the ground beef and sausage in a skillet. Drain excess fat, then add the onion and garlic. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and sugar. Let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
Mix the Ricotta Layer:
Combine the ricotta, egg, Parmesan, and parsley in a bowl until smooth.
Assemble the Lasagna:
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of your baking dish.
- Add a layer of cooked noodles.
- Spread the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then sprinkle mozzarella.
- Repeat the layers until everything is used, ending with a generous layer of mozzarella.
Bake:
Cover the dish with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for 15 more minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
Rest & Serve:
Allow the lasagna to rest for 10 minutes before cutting into it.
