Pumpkin Spice Moonshine 

Smooth, cozy, and perfectly spiced — this tastes like fall in a jar.

 Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (750 ml) 190-proof Everclear (or vodka if you want milder shine)
  • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin purée
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 2 cups apple juice
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cinnamon stick per jar
  • Optional: 1–2 cloves or a strip of orange peel for deeper flavor

 

 Directions

1️⃣ Make the Pumpkin Base

  1. In a large pot, combine:
    • Apple cider
    • Apple juice
    • Pumpkin purée
    • Brown sugar
    • White sugar
    • Pumpkin pie spice
  2. Whisk until the pumpkin blends smoothly.
  3. Heat over medium until it begins to steam — do NOT boil.
    (Boiling changes the flavor and evaporates aroma.)
  4. Once hot, remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.

2️⃣ Add the Alcohol

  1. When completely cool, stir in:
    • Everclear (or vodka)
    • Vanilla extract
  2. Mix thoroughly.

3️⃣ Bottle the Shine

  1. Pour into clean mason jars.
  2. Add 1 cinnamon stick to each jar.
  3. Seal tightly.

4️⃣ Let It Age (Important!)

  • Store in the fridge for at least 3–5 days before drinking.
  • For best flavor: Let it sit 2 weeks.
    The spices settle, and the shine turns silky smooth.

 Serving Ideas

  • Serve chilled
  • Mix with cream soda
  • Add to coffee or hot chocolate
  • Mix 1 oz with apple cider and whipped cream

Storage

  • Refrigerated: Up to 3 months
  • Shake before serving (pumpkin settles naturally)
