Pumpkin Spice Moonshine

Pumpkin Spice Moonshine
Smooth, cozy, and perfectly spiced — this tastes like fall in a jar.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle (750 ml) 190-proof Everclear (or vodka if you want milder shine)
- 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin purée
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 4 cups apple cider
- 2 cups apple juice
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- 1 cinnamon stick per jar
- Optional: 1–2 cloves or a strip of orange peel for deeper flavor
Directions
1️⃣ Make the Pumpkin Base
- In a large pot, combine:
- Apple cider
- Apple juice
- Pumpkin purée
- Brown sugar
- White sugar
- Pumpkin pie spice
- Whisk until the pumpkin blends smoothly.
- Heat over medium until it begins to steam — do NOT boil.
(Boiling changes the flavor and evaporates aroma.) - Once hot, remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
2️⃣ Add the Alcohol
- When completely cool, stir in:
- Everclear (or vodka)
- Vanilla extract
- Mix thoroughly.
3️⃣ Bottle the Shine
- Pour into clean mason jars.
- Add 1 cinnamon stick to each jar.
- Seal tightly.
4️⃣ Let It Age (Important!)
- Store in the fridge for at least 3–5 days before drinking.
- For best flavor: Let it sit 2 weeks.
The spices settle, and the shine turns silky smooth.
Serving Ideas
- Serve chilled
- Mix with cream soda
- Add to coffee or hot chocolate
- Mix 1 oz with apple cider and whipped cream
Storage
- Refrigerated: Up to 3 months
- Shake before serving (pumpkin settles naturally)
