Cool Whip Christmas Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup Cool Whip, thawed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Red and green sprinkles or colored sugar for decoration
Instructions
1. Preheat and Prepare
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
2. Cream Butter and Sugars
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
3. Add Cool Whip
- Mix in the thawed Cool Whip and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
4. Make the Dough
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Mix on low speed just until a soft dough forms. (Do not overmix.)
5. Shape and Decorate
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls.
- Roll each ball in red and green sprinkles (or colored sugar) until coated.
- Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
6. Bake
- Bake for 10–12 minutes.
- Cookies should remain pale and soft on top; they will not brown much.
7. Cool
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
- Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
