A Sweet Throwback to the Treats We Grew Up Loving

These classic childhood desserts are cozy, simple, and packed with nostalgia—the kind of recipes that remind us of after-school snacks, weekend baking sessions, and the warmth of grandma’s kitchen.

 Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 bag mini marshmallows
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat.
  2. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Remove from heat and quickly fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
  5. Press the mixture into a greased pan.
  6. Let cool, then cut into squares and enjoy.

 Hershey Chocolate Cake

Chocolate Cake Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add sugar, buttermilk, vanilla, oils, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
  4. Slowly stir in the boiling water (the batter will be thin).
  5. Divide batter evenly between pans.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cakes cool completely before frosting.

Chocolate Frosting Instructions

  1. Beat butter until creamy.
  2. Add vanilla extract and cocoa powder, mixing well.
  3. Alternate adding powdered sugar and milk until frosting is smooth and spreadable.
  4. Frost the cooled cake layers and decorate as desired.

 Burger King–Style Hershey Pie

Instructions

  1. Beat cream cheese until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Add powdered sugar and vanilla; mix until fully combined.
  3. Fold in one container of whipped topping and spread evenly into the pie crust.
  4. Melt the chocolate bars gently and let cool slightly.
  5. Fold melted chocolate into another container of whipped topping.
  6. Spread chocolate layer over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  8. Garnish with remaining whipped topping and chocolate shavings if desired.

 No-Bake Peanut Butter Cookies

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine butter, sugar, milk, and salt.
  2. Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat and boil for 1 minute.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Add oats and mix well.
  5. Drop spoonfuls onto parchment paper.
  6. Let cool and set at room temperature before serving.
