Classic Soft & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Golden edges, soft centers, and packed with melty chocolate chips—this timeless cookie recipe never fails. Perfect for after-school treats, weekend baking, or whenever a sweet craving hits.
Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar (packed)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat & Prep
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line baking sheets with parchment paper. - Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. - Cream Butter & Sugars
In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. - Add Eggs & Vanilla
Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in vanilla extract. - Combine
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. - Add Chocolate Chips
Gently fold in the chocolate chips. - Shape Cookies
Scoop dough into balls (about 1½ tablespoons each) and place on baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. - Bake
Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft. - Cool & Enjoy
Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely—or enjoy warm!
