Strawberry Moonshine

Irresistibly Sweet and Fruity Elixir

 

 

 

Ingredients:

1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup water

1 cup Everclear or grain alcohol

1/2 cup vodka

1/2 cup strawberry syrup

1/4 cup lemon juice

Mason jars for storing

 

 

 

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine the fresh strawberries and sugar. Mash the strawberries and sugar together until well mixed. Cover the bowl and let it sit for about 2 hours, allowing the strawberries to release their juices.

 

 

 

 

After 2 hours, transfer the strawberry mixture to a saucepan and add 1 cup of water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until it thickens and becomes syrupy. Remove from heat and let it cool.

 

 

 

Once the strawberry syrup has cooled, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve into a large mixing bowl, pressing the strawberries to extract all the liquid.

 

 

 

Stir in the Everclear or grain alcohol, vodka, strawberry syrup, and lemon juice into the strawberry liquid.

 

 

 

Pour the strawberry moonshine into clean Mason jars, seal tightly, and store in a cool, dark place for at least two weeks to allow the flavors to meld.

 

 

 

Serve chilled in small shot glasses, and enjoy responsibly!
