Catch A Husband Cake (Bolo Para Casar)

Catch A Husband Cake (Bolo Para Casar)
A rich, moist, custard-like Brazilian cake with the irresistible flavors of coconut and three kinds of milk. Every bite is creamy and melts in your mouth!
Ingredients
For the Cake:
1 can (14 oz / 395 g) sweetened condensed milk
1 can whole milk (use the same can to measure)
1 can coconut milk (use the same can to measure)
1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
3 large eggs
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional, but enhances flavor)
For Garnish:
1/2 cup shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened, for topping)
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat Oven & Prepare Pan
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a bundt pan or an 8×8-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
Lightly dust with flour, tapping out the excess, to prevent sticking.
Tip: For easier removal, you can line the pan with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Mix the Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine:
Sweetened condensed milk
Whole milk
Coconut milk
Flour
Sugar
Eggs
Melted butter
Baking powder
Vanilla extract (if using)
Mix with a whisk or an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and fully combined. The batter will be thin, which is normal.
Tip: If using a blender, pulse everything together for a super smooth, custard-like texture.
3️⃣ Bake the Cake
Pour the thin batter into the prepared pan.
Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Tip: If baking in a bundt pan, place the pan on a baking sheet to catch any spills since the batter is thin.
4️⃣ Cool & Garnish
Let the cake cool in the pan for 15–20 minutes.
Carefully invert onto a serving plate.
Sprinkle shredded coconut evenly over the top while the cake is still slightly warm.
Optional: Toast the coconut lightly for extra flavor and crunch.
5️⃣ Serve & Enjoy
Serve warm or at room temperature.
This cake is delicious on its own or topped with:
A dollop of whipped cream
Fresh fruit like sliced strawberries or mango
A drizzle of caramel or condensed milk for extra indulgence
Note: This cake is very moist, dense, and custard-like—each slice is rich and satisfying.
Extra Tips & Variations
Flavor boost: Add 1 tsp of rum or coconut liqueur to the batter for a tropical twist.
Chocolate version: Sprinkle chocolate chips into the batter before baking for a decadent variation.
Make mini cakes: Bake in muffin tins for individual servings (reduce baking time to ~20–25 minutes).
Storage: Store in the fridge for up to 4 days; it tastes even better chilled as the flavors meld.
