Slow Cooker 4-Ingredient Apple Dumplings

Slow Cooker 4-Ingredient Apple Dumplings
Servings: 8
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 2–3 hours
Ingredients
4 large apples (any sweet-tart variety, like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
Instructions
Prepare the Apples:
Peel, core, and quarter the apples. If prepping ahead, toss them with a little lemon juice and store in the fridge until ready to assemble.
Wrap with Dough:
Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles. Place an apple quarter on each triangle and wrap the dough around it, sealing the edges.
Arrange in Slow Cooker:
Place the wrapped apples in the slow cooker in a single layer.
Add Butter and Sugar:
Cut the butter into small pieces and scatter over the dumplings. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly on top.
Cook:
Cover and cook on low for 2–3 hours, until the apples are tender and the sauce is thick and caramel-like. Avoid lifting the lid too often so it doesn’t lose heat.
Serve:
Spoon warm dumplings into bowls, drizzle with the caramel sauce, and enjoy as-is or with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or chopped nuts if desired.
Tips
Make Ahead: Prep apples a few hours in advance to save time.
Storage: Keep leftovers in the fridge up to 3 days; reheat in short microwave bursts. Add a splash of water or cream if sauce is too thick.
Optional Crunch: Toasted pecans or walnuts on top add a lovely texture.
