Sweet Heart Cherry Hand Pies (3-Ingredient Weekend Favorite!)
These adorable heart-shaped cherry hand pies are the kind of simple treat that instantly makes any day feel special. With just three ingredients and minimal effort, they bake up golden, flaky, and filled with sweet cherry goodness. No wonder kids ask for them every weekend—they’re fun to make, even more fun to eat, and perfect for cozy family moments.
Ingredients:
1 package store-bought pie crust (2 sheets)
1 can cherry pie filling
1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven
Set your oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the dough
Roll out the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Using a heart-shaped cutter (or a knife), cut out an even number of hearts.
Fill the pies
Place half of the hearts on the baking sheet. Add 1–2 tablespoons of cherry pie filling to the center of each, leaving space around the edges.
Seal them
Place another heart-shaped piece of dough on top. Press the edges gently with a fork to seal.
Add the golden finish
Beat the egg and brush it lightly over the tops for that beautiful bakery-style shine.
Bake
Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the pies are golden brown and crisp.
Cool slightly & serve
Let them cool for a few minutes before serving—they’re best enjoyed warm!
Serving Ideas:
Serve these golden cherry hearts on a white platter for a charming presentation. Pair them with:
A glass of cold milk (perfect for kids )
A hot cup of coffee or tea
A scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an easy dessert twist
Tips:
Don’t overfill to avoid leaks
If you don’t have a heart cutter, any shape works just as well!
Sprinkle a little sugar on top before baking for extra sparkle and crunch.
Perfect for movie nights, lunchbox surprises, picnics, or a sweet weekend baking tradition. Simple, cute, and absolutely delicious
