Ingredients
1 large head of cabbage
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
1 cup cooked rice
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 egg
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 can (15 oz / 425 g) tomato sauce
1 can (14 oz / 400 g) diced tomatoes
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
½ cup beef broth
Instructions
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the cabbage leaves and blanch them for 2–3 minutes until softened. Drain and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix until well combined.
Place a generous spoonful of the beef mixture onto each cabbage leaf. Fold in the sides and roll tightly.
Arrange the cabbage rolls seam-side down in a large baking dish or Dutch oven.
In a separate bowl, mix together the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth.
Pour the sauce evenly over the cabbage rolls.
Cover tightly with foil or a lid and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1½ to 2 hours, or until the cabbage is tender and the filling is fully cooked.
Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
