Instructions

Preheat the Oven Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Cook the Beef In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and fully cooked, about 6–8 minutes. Drain any excess grease.

Season the Filling Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly seasoned.

Assemble the Casserole Spread the seasoned beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle with mustard, if desired.

Add the Cheese Sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the beef layer.

Top with Fries Arrange the frozen French fries in an even layer over the cheese, covering the entire surface.

Bake Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the fries are crispy and golden brown and the cheese is hot and bubbly.

Finish and Serve Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Drizzle with ketchup and sour cream or mayonnaise.

Garnish Top with your favorite burger-inspired toppings such as pickles, green onions, bacon, or extra cheese.

Tips for Success

Use lean ground beef to reduce excess grease.

For extra flavor, mix a little Worcestershire sauce into the beef.

Bake the fries until extra crispy for the best texture.

Swap cheddar for pepper jack if you like a little heat.
