Cherry Moonshine

Cherry Moonshine
Ingredients
- 1 pound cherries
- 1/2 cup cherry juice
- 1 cup sugar
- 750 ml moonshine (Everclear or vodka also work well)
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
1. Prepare the Cherry Simple Syrup
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, water, and cherry juice.
- Stir until the sugar fully dissolves and the mixture becomes a smooth syrup.
- Once ready, pour the syrup into a Mason jar and set it aside to cool.
2. Make the Cherry Moonshine
- Add the cherries to a large mixing bowl.
- Lightly mash them with a potato masher to release their juices.
- Pour in the simple syrup, alcohol, and additional cherry juice. Mix everything together thoroughly.
- Divide the mixture into clean jars, ensuring the cherries are evenly distributed.
- Make sure the cherries are completely submerged in the liquid.
- Seal the jars tightly and store them in a cool place.
Infusion Time
- The longer it infuses, the better the flavor. A minimum of 3 days, but it can be aged for up to 1 year for maximum richness.
Final Step
- Once infused to your liking, strain the mixture to remove skins and pulp (you can snack on them if you like!).
Enjoy!
