Chicken Bacon Ranch Pasta
Ingredients:
For the Pasta:
- 12 oz (340 g) pasta (penne, rotini, or your choice)
- 2 cups cooked chicken, diced or shredded
- 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1 ½ cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded (optional but delicious!)
- 1 packet ranch seasoning (or 1 tbsp homemade ranch mix)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta
Boil your pasta in salted water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
2. Cook the sauce
- In a large skillet or pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the flour and whisk for 1 minute to create a roux.
- Slowly pour in the milk and heavy cream, whisking until the sauce thickens.
3. Add flavor
Stir in:
- Ranch seasoning
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Salt and pepper
Cook for 2–3 minutes until creamy.
4. Add chicken, bacon & cheese
- Add the cooked chicken and crumbled bacon.
- Stir in the cheddar cheese (and mozzarella if using) until melted and smooth.
5. Combine with pasta
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and mix until fully coated.
6. Serve
Garnish with fresh parsley and extra bacon or cheese if you like!
Optional Upgrade Ideas:
- Add spinach or broccoli for extra veggies
- Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and broil for 2–3 minutes for a crispy top
- Use spicy ranch or add red pepper flakes for heat
