Christmas-Tree Cake Balls

Christmas-Tree Cake Balls

Ingredients:

  • 1 batch of your favorite cake (baked and cooled) or pre-made snack cakes
  • 8 oz (about 225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 16 oz (about 450 g) white candy melts or white chocolate coating
  • Red candy melts (for drizzling)
  • Green sanding sugar or festive sprinkles
  • Wax or parchment paper for lining

Instructions:

  1. Crumble & Mix: Crumble the cake into a large bowl. Add the softened cream cheese and mix until well combined into a dough-like texture.
  2. Shape Balls: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, roll the mixture into balls (about 1 inch diameter) and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for 30–45 minutes until firm.
  3. Melt the Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  4. Dip the Balls: Remove the cake balls from the freezer. Dip each ball into the melted white coating, letting excess drip off, then place back on the parchment paper. Immediately sprinkle with green sanding sugar or festive sprinkles.
  5. Drizzle Red: Melt the red candy melts and transfer to a small bag or piping tool. Drizzle red over each coated ball to mimic the “garland” look of a Christmas tree.
  6. Set & Serve: Allow the cake balls to set at room temperature or in the fridge until the coating is firm. Serve and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Use any cake flavour you like or adapt the mix for dietary preferences.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for several days.
  • You can also insert sticks into the balls before coating to make cake pops instead.
