Garlic Sauce for Pizza – Full Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Melt the Butter:
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it begins to bubble slightly. - Add Garlic:
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes, just until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it—burnt garlic turns bitter. - Add Seasonings:
Mix in the oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well to combine all the flavors. - Season:
Add salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as you like. - Simmer:
Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer gently for 2–3 minutes. This helps the herbs infuse into the butter. - Serve or Store:
- Use immediately by brushing over pizza crust, drizzling on baked pizza, or serving as a dipping sauce for crusts.
- You can also store it in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat gently before using.
Tip:
For a creamier version, whisk in 1–2 tablespoons of heavy cream or grated Parmesan cheese before serving — perfect for a richer garlic butter flavor!
