Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Balls
Ingredients:
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tub (16 oz) vanilla frosting
- 2 cups green candy melts
- Assorted sprinkles and edible decorations
- Pretzel sticks (for tree trunks)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the yellow cake batter by mixing the cake mix with water, vegetable oil, and eggs according to the package directions.
- Pour the batter into a 9×13 inch baking pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely.
- Once cooled, crumble the cake into a large bowl.
- Add the vanilla frosting and mix until the texture becomes thick and moldable.
- Shape the mixture into small cone-shaped balls to resemble mini Christmas trees.
- Arrange the shaped cake balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Melt the green candy melts following the package instructions.
- Insert a pretzel stick into the base of each cake ball to act as the tree trunk.
- Dip each cake ball into the melted green candy coating, ensuring it’s fully covered.
- While the coating is still soft, decorate with sprinkles or edible decorations to look like ornaments.
- Place the coated cake balls back onto parchment paper and allow them to set until the candy coating hardens.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature.
