Moonshine Pickle Comparison

Moonshine Pickle Comparison

Aromatics

Clark & Co’s pickles have a fresher, more vibrant dill aroma, while Midnight’s pickles carry a noticeably stronger boozy scent.

Price

Both brands cost $35.

Color

Midnight’s pickle juice has that classic salty brine look we all love, and the pickle spear appears firm.
Clark & Co’s brine is much clearer—more like traditional moonshine—and the jar includes whole pickles, which is exciting.

Flavor of the Moonshine

Clark & Co’s caught my attention first because it smells amazing. The taste didn’t disappoint—it’s still distinctly pickle-forward with just a hint of sweetness. (I hate sweet pickles, but this is more like a few accidental sugar crystals landing on your pickle. Totally harmless!)
Midnight’s moonshine has a more balanced pickle flavor, and you definitely feel a bit more heat from the alcohol.

How the Pickles Taste

I started with Midnight’s pickles. On their own, they’re not great—they taste boozy—but the texture of the spear is solid. They’re much better when dipped in ranch, salt, or Tajin.
Clark & Co’s pickles, on the other hand, are delicious. They’re less boozy, wonderfully crisp, and stand on their own. They’d be fantastic on a charcuterie board.
