Garlic Sauce for Pizza – Full Recipe

Garlic Sauce for Pizza – Full Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Melt the Butter:
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it begins to bubble slightly.
  2. Add Garlic:
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes, just until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it—burnt garlic turns bitter.
  3. Add Seasonings:
Mix in the oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well to combine all the flavors.
  4. Season:
Add salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as you like.
  5. Simmer:
Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer gently for 2–3 minutes. This helps the herbs infuse into the butter.
  6. Serve or Store:
    • Use immediately by brushing over pizza crust, drizzling on baked pizza, or serving as a dipping sauce for crusts.
    • You can also store it in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat gently before using.

Tip:
For a creamier version, whisk in 1–2 tablespoons of heavy cream or grated Parmesan cheese before serving — perfect for a richer garlic butter flavor!
