Pork Chop Supreme

Pork Chop Supreme

A rich and comforting dish where tender pork chops are smothered in a creamy mushroom sauce, perfect for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

4 bone-in pork chops (about 1-inch thick)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced

1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup

1/2 cup chicken broth

1/2 cup sour cream

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Directions

1. Prepare the oven
Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.

2. Season the pork chops
Rub both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until evenly coated.

3. Sear the pork chops
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork chops for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown. (They don’t need to be fully cooked yet.) Transfer to the prepared baking dish.

4. Cook the vegetables
In the same skillet, sauté onions for 2–3 minutes until softened. Add mushrooms and cook for another 3–4 minutes until tender.

5. Make the creamy sauce
In a medium bowl, whisk together mushroom soup, chicken broth, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and paprika until smooth. Pour over the pork chops in the baking dish.

6. Assemble
Spread the sautéed onions and mushrooms over the chops to add flavor and keep them moist while baking.

7. Bake
Cover with foil and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the pork reaches an internal temperature of at least 145°F (63°C).

8. Serve
Remove from the oven, let rest for 5 minutes, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm.
