Pumpkin Dog Treats Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (250 g) pumpkin purée (plain, no sugar or spices)
  • 2 ½ cups (315 g) whole wheat flour (or oat flour for sensitive pups)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tbsp peanut butter (unsalted, xylitol-free)
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1–2 tbsp water (as needed for texture)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine pumpkin purée, eggs, and peanut butter. Stir until smooth.
  3. Add dry ingredients: Add flour and cinnamon. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Adjust texture: If dough is too dry, add 1–2 tablespoons of water gradually until it’s easy to roll out.
  5. Shape the treats: Roll the dough out to about ¼ inch thick and cut with cookie cutters (bone or pumpkin shapes are fun!).
  6. Bake: Place treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, until firm and lightly golden.
  7. Cool completely: Let the treats cool fully before giving them to your dog.

Storage:
Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.
You can also freeze them for up to 3 months.
