Snoop Dogg’s Slow Cooker Ribs

Snoop Dogg’s Slow Cooker Ribs
Ingredients:
For the Dry Rub:
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
For the Ribs:
- 3 to 4 pounds (about 1.5–2 kg) pork baby back ribs or spare ribs
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Ribs:
- Remove the thin silver membrane from the back of the ribs (this helps them get tender).
- Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
- Make the Dry Rub:
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne (if using).
- Rub the mixture generously all over the ribs, coating both sides.
- Set Up the Slow Cooker:
- Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Place the ribs inside (you can cut them into sections to fit if needed).
- Cook the Ribs:
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the ribs are tender and the meat is nearly falling off the bone.
- Add the Barbecue Sauce:
- Carefully remove the ribs and place them on a baking sheet lined with foil.
- Brush generously with barbecue sauce.
- (Optional) For a caramelized finish, place under the broiler for 5–7 minutes until the sauce bubbles and slightly chars.
- Serve & Enjoy:
- Let the ribs rest for a few minutes.
- Slice between the bones and serve hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
Tips:
- For extra flavor, marinate the ribs with the dry rub overnight before cooking.
- You can replace the water with apple juice or cola for a sweeter, richer taste.
- Try Snoop’s style: serve with cornbread, mac & cheese, and greens.
