Watermelon–Cucumber–Feta Skewers with a Zesty Tajín & Lime Twist

A refreshing, colorful, and delightfully tangy appetizer that perfectly balances sweet watermelon, crisp cucumber, creamy feta, and a bright kick of Tajín and lime. Ideal for summer picnics, brunch spreads, or elegant dinner starters!

Ingredients

8 ounces (225 g) reduced-fat feta cheese, cut into 16 neat one-inch cubes

2 mini cucumbers, sliced into 32 thin rounds

500 grams fresh watermelon, rind removed and cut into 32 one-inch cubes

16–32 fresh mint leaves (use smaller ones whole or halve larger leaves)

Tajín seasoning, to taste

16 wooden skewers, about 4–7 inches long

Directions

1. Prepare the Ingredients:
Start by trimming the rind off the watermelon and cutting it into even one-inch cubes for a clean, vibrant look. Slice the mini cucumbers into thin, delicate rounds to add a crisp bite.
For the feta, halve the block lengthwise and then slice into even cubes. To avoid crumbling, allow the feta to come slightly to room temperature before cutting — cold feta can break apart easily.

2. Assemble the Skewers:
Take a wooden skewer and begin layering:

Start with a fresh mint leaf at the base.

Add one cube of watermelon, followed by one slice of cucumber.

Gently slide on one cube of feta cheese — handle it with care to keep its shape.

Repeat the pattern with another cucumber slice, a second watermelon cube, and finish with a mint leaf on top for a fresh, decorative touch.

3. Add the Finishing Touch:
Once all skewers are assembled, arrange them neatly on a serving platter. Sprinkle Tajín seasoning generously over the top for that irresistible chili-lime kick. For an extra burst of flavor, lightly squeeze fresh lime juice over the skewers just before serving.

4. Serve & Enjoy:
