Deep-Fried Shrimp Alfredo Burrito Bites

These burrito bites combine juicy shrimp tossed in rich Alfredo sauce, melty mozzarella, and a golden crunchy coating. Perfect as an appetizer, snack, or game-day favorite.

 

 

 

 

Ingredients

For the Filling

1 lb (450 g) shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped into bite-size pieces

1 cup Alfredo sauce (homemade or store-bought)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and black pepper, to taste

For Wrapping

4 large flour tortillas

For Breading

2 large eggs, beaten

½ cup all-purpose flour

1 cup breadcrumbs or panko (for extra crunch)

For Frying

Vegetable or canola oil, for deep frying

For Serving (Optional)

Extra warm Alfredo sauce

Marinara sauce or garlic aioli

Chopped parsley for garnish

 

 

 

 

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Shrimp Filling

In a large bowl, combine:

Chopped shrimp

Alfredo sauce

Garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper

Mix gently until the shrimp are fully coated. Fold in the shredded mozzarella cheese. Set aside.

2️⃣ Assemble the Burrito Bites

Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface.

Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of shrimp mixture into the center.

Fold in the sides, then roll tightly into a burrito.

Repeat with remaining tortillas and filling.

Tip: For bite-size pieces, cut each burrito in half before breading.

3️⃣ Bread the Burritos

Set up a breading station:

Bowl with flour

Bowl with beaten eggs

Bowl with breadcrumbs

Roll each burrito (or burrito half) in flour.

Dip into beaten eggs.

Coat well with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to stick.

4️⃣ Fry Until Golden

Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).

Carefully place burrito bites into the hot oil.

Fry in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning until golden brown and crispy on all sides.

Remove and drain on paper towels.

5️⃣ Serve & Enjoy

Serve hot and crispy with:

Extra Alfredo sauce for dipping

Marinara or garlic aioli on the side

Garnish with fresh parsley

 

 

 

Tips & Variations

Air Fryer Option: Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.

Spicy Kick: Add red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the filling.

Extra Cheesy: Mix in parmesan or provolone cheese.

Make Ahead: Assemble and bread, then freeze. Fry directly from frozen (add 1–2 extra minutes).
