Crispy Bacon & Parmesan Puff Pastry Twists

Golden, flaky, and packed with smoky bacon flavor — these cheesy puff pastry twists are the ultimate savory snack everyone will love. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or a quick appetizer!

 

 

 

Ingredients

For the Dough

2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour

30 g (1/4 cup) Parmesan cheese, grated

1 tsp dried garlic

1 tsp dried basil

2 tbsp ketchup

1/2 tsp salt

1/3 cup (80 ml) warm water

2 tbsp olive oil

For the Filling

200 g bacon, cooked and chopped

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 small onion, finely chopped

Fresh parsley, chopped

For Brushing

1 egg yolk

1 tbsp milk

Extra Parmesan cheese for topping

 

 

 

 

Instructions

Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine the flour, Parmesan cheese, dried garlic, basil, and salt. Add the ketchup, olive oil, and warm water. Mix until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rest for 20 minutes.

Prepare the Filling

Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Drain excess grease and chop into small pieces. Mix with mozzarella cheese, onion, and parsley.

Roll and Fill

Roll the dough into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Spread the bacon mixture evenly over half of the dough, then fold the other half over the filling.

Cut the Twists

Slice the dough into strips and gently twist each strip several times. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Brush and Bake

Whisk the egg yolk with milk and brush over the twists. Sprinkle with extra Parmesan cheese.

Bake

Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 18–22 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Serving Suggestions

Serve warm with ketchup, garlic sauce, or a creamy cheese dip. These savory twists are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven while perfectly flaky and cheesy!
