Blueberry Pie Moonshine

Ingredients

1 liter Everclear

16 cups blueberries (fresh or frozen)

2 cups brown sugar

2 teaspoons cinnamon

2 tablespoons butter

4 tablespoons cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

16 cups water

 

 

 

Directions

1. In a large pot, combine 2 cups of water with the blueberries, butter, vanilla, and all dry ingredients.

2. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring often. Let it cook for 10–15 minutes, or until the blueberries become very soft.

3. Blend the mixture with a blender or immersion mixer until completely smooth.

4. Once removed from heat, stir in the lemon juice.

5. Add the remaining 13–16 cups of water along with the Everclear. Mix thoroughly.

6. Pour the moonshine mixture into mason jars, adding a few spoonfuls of fresh blueberries to each jar for extra flavor.

7. Seal the jars tightly and store them in the refrigerator or a cool, dark place for at least one week. Shake the jars every few days to help the flavors develop.
