Shortcut Peach Pie Moonshine

Shortcut Peach Pie Moonshine
is easy to make and ready in a few weeks. It produces a sweet, “pie-flavored” spirit.
- Ingredients:
- 64 oz (½ gallon) White grape peach juice
- 2 cans (15 oz each) Sliced peaches in heavy syrup (do not drain)
- 1 ½ cups Granulated sugar (white or brown for a richer flavor)
- 4–6 Cinnamon sticks
- 1 bottle (750 ml) Everclear (190 proof) or high-proof vodka
- 1 bottle (750 ml) Peach schnapps
- Optional: 1 vanilla bean or 2 tbsp vanilla extract for “à la mode” flavor.
- Instructions:
- Boil: In a large stockpot, combine the juice, canned peaches (with syrup), sugar, and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30–45 minutes.
- Cool: Remove from heat and let the mixture cool completely to room temperature. Adding alcohol to hot liquid is dangerous and will cause the alcohol to evaporate.
- Mix: Once cool, stir in the Everclear and peach schnapps.
- Jar: Ladle into clean mason jars. Distribute the peaches and cinnamon sticks among the jars.
- Mellow: Store in a cool, dark place (or refrigerator) for at least 2 weeks. The flavor improves significantly with age.
