Ingredients
Buttery Crust Layer
2 cups (about 250 g) graham cracker crumbs or digestive biscuits
½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
Chocolate Cheesecake Filling
16 oz (450 g) cream cheese, softened
½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
⅓ cup (30 g) unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream, whipped to stiff peaks
Layers & Topping
3–4 ripe bananas, sliced
1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream, whipped with 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
Garnish: chocolate shavings, chocolate chips, and extra banana slices
Directions
1. Prepare the Crust
In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand. Press half of the mixture firmly into the bottom of a trifle bowl or individual dessert glasses. Reserve the remaining crumbs for layering.
2. Make the Chocolate Cheesecake
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy, about 2–3 minutes. Add the cocoa powder and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
3. Fold in the Cream
Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate cheesecake mixture, keeping the texture light and fluffy.
4. Assemble the Layers
Arrange a layer of banana slices over the crust. Spoon half of the chocolate cheesecake mixture on top. Sprinkle with the remaining crust crumbs, add another layer of bananas, and finish with the remaining cheesecake mixture.
5. Chill
Refrigerate for 2–4 hours to allow the layers to set and the flavors to blend beautifully.
6. Serve & Garnish
Just before serving, top with freshly whipped cream and decorate with chocolate shavings, chocolate chips, and banana slices.
