Orange Crush Sherbet (No-Churn, Super Creamy)

Orange Crush Sherbet (No-Churn, Super Creamy)
This nostalgic orange sherbet tastes like a frozen orange creamsicle—light, fluffy, creamy, and bursting with citrus flavor. No ice-cream machine needed!
Ingredients
2 cups Orange Crush soda, chilled
(or any orange-flavored soda like Fanta)
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
2 cups heavy whipping cream, very cold
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional but highly recommended)
1 tablespoon orange zest (optional, for extra citrus punch)
Pinch of salt (optional, balances sweetness)
Equipment Needed
Large mixing bowl
Medium mixing bowl
Hand mixer or stand mixer
Rubber spatula
Freezer-safe container with lid
Plastic wrap (optional, for smoother texture)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1️⃣ Mix the Orange Base
In a large bowl, slowly pour in the Orange Crush soda.
Add the sweetened condensed milk.
Whisk gently until fully blended and smooth.
(Don’t overmix—this helps keep the sherbet light.)
Stir in vanilla extract, orange zest, and salt if using.
Set aside.
2️⃣ Whip the Cream
In a separate chilled bowl, add the cold heavy whipping cream.
Using a mixer, beat on medium-high speed for 2–3 minutes.
Stop once stiff peaks form.
(The cream should hold its shape when you lift the beaters.)
3️⃣ Combine Gently
Add ⅓ of the whipped cream to the orange mixture.
Fold gently to lighten the base.
Add the remaining whipped cream in two additions.
Fold slowly using a spatula until no streaks remain.
(Be gentle—this keeps the sherbet fluffy.)
4️⃣ Freeze the Sherbet
Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container.
Smooth the top with a spatula.
Cover tightly with a lid or plastic wrap.
Freeze for 4–6 hours, or until firm.
For best texture:
During the first 2–3 hours, stir once every hour to prevent ice crystals.
5️⃣ Serve & Enjoy
Let the sherbet sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before scooping.
Scoop into bowls, cones, or cups.
Optional toppings:
Orange zest
Whipped cream
Maraschino cherries
Mini marshmallows
Colorful sprinkles
