Caramelized Slow Roast Asian Beef Short Ribs

 

 

Ingredients:

 

2 lbs beef short ribs

1/2 cup soy sauce

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup honey

1/2 cup beef broth

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds, for garnish

 

 

 

 

Directions:

 

Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).

In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, beef broth, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and chili flakes.

Place short ribs in a baking dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated.

Cover tightly with foil and roast in the oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat is tender and nearly falling off the bone.

Remove foil and increase oven temperature to 400°F (200°C).

Roast uncovered for an additional 15–20 minutes, basting occasionally, until the sauce caramelizes and thickens.

Let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds and serve hot.
