The Easiest, Hassle-Free Way to Cook Bacon

The Easiest, Hassle-Free Way to Cook Bacon
This method gives you crispy, evenly cooked bacon with almost zero mess. No splattering, no standing over a pan—just set it and relax.
Ingredients
Bacon slices (regular or thick-cut; as many as you need)
Equipment
Rimmed baking sheet
Parchment paper or aluminum foil
Optional: wire rack (for extra-crispy bacon)
Instructions
Preheat the oven
Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Prepare the pan
Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
Optional: Place a wire rack on top—this lets fat drip away for crispier bacon.
Arrange the bacon
Lay bacon strips in a single layer. They can touch slightly, but don’t overlap.
Bake
Place the tray in the center of the oven and bake for:
15–18 minutes for regular bacon
20–25 minutes for thick-cut bacon
Check near the end—bacon can go from perfect to overdone fast.
Drain & serve
Remove from the oven and transfer bacon to a plate lined with paper towels. Let it rest 1–2 minutes to crisp up fully.
Pro Tips
Extra crispy: Use the wire rack and add 2–3 more minutes.
Chewy bacon: Pull it out a little earlier.
Easy cleanup: Let the grease cool, then fold the parchment/foil and toss.
Save the grease: Pour cooled bacon fat into a jar for cooking eggs, veggies, or potatoes later.
Why This Method Works
No mess: All splatter stays in the oven.
Hands-off: No flipping, no babysitting.
Even cooking: Every strip finishes at the same time.
