Ingredients
For the Filling:
500 g minced beef
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small carrot, grated
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cumin
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Fresh parsley, chopped
For the Pastry:
1 sheet puff pastry
1 egg yolk (for brushing)
Sesame seeds or black seeds for topping
Instructions
1. Prepare the Filling
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and fragrant. Stir in the garlic and grated carrot, then cook for another 2 minutes.
Add the minced beef and cook until browned. Mix in the tomato paste, paprika, cumin, black pepper, and salt. Let everything simmer for a few minutes until the mixture becomes rich and flavorful. Finish with fresh parsley and allow the filling to cool slightly.
2. Assemble the Pastries
Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into rectangles or squares. Place a spoonful of the beef filling in the center of each piece.
Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges using a fork.
3. Bake
Place the pastries on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 20–25 minutes, or until beautifully golden and crispy.
Serving Suggestion
Serve warm with a fresh salad, spicy sauce, or a creamy garlic dip for the ultimate savory treat.
