Golden Ham & Cheese Puff Pastry Pockets
Crispy, buttery puff pastry stuffed with smoky ham and melty cheese… every bite is warm, flaky, and absolutely irresistible! These easy pockets disappear fast, so don’t be surprised if everyone asks for seconds.
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry (about 250 g), thawed
150 g (5 oz) ham, thinly sliced or diced
150 g (5 oz) cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Gruyère), grated
1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
1 tsp dried parsley or Italian seasoning
Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry slightly and cut it into 4–6 equal rectangles.
On one half of each rectangle, add ham and a generous amount of grated cheese. Sprinkle with parsley and black pepper. Add a small touch of Dijon mustard if desired.
Fold the pastry over the filling and press the edges with a fork to seal tightly.
Brush the tops with beaten egg for that beautiful golden finish.
Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until puffed and deeply golden brown.
Let cool slightly before serving — the cheesy center will be deliciously gooey!
