Ingredients
1 box yellow cake mix
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
4 large eggs
1 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
Preheat the oven
Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Prepare the pecan pie filling
In a large bowl, whisk together:
Corn syrup
Brown sugar
Melted butter
Eggs
Vanilla extract
Salt
Mix until smooth and well combined.
Add to baking dish
Pour the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Add cake mix
Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the filling.
Do not mix.
Top with pecans
Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly over the top.
Bake
Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but slightly gooey.
Cool & serve
Let cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
Serve warm—delicious on its own or with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
