Ingredients
2 lbs (900g) beef steak, cut into strips
1½ lbs (700g) baby potatoes, halved
4 tbsp butter, melted
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium onion, sliced
1 cup beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp dried thyme
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
Place the halved potatoes in the bottom of the slow cooker and top with the sliced onions.
In a large bowl, season the steak strips with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Arrange the seasoned steak over the potatoes.
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the steak and potatoes.
Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the steak is fork-tender and the potatoes are perfectly cooked.
For a thicker gravy, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir it into the slow cooker during the last 20 minutes of cooking.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with plenty of the rich garlic butter gravy spooned over the top.
Serving Suggestion
Pair with crusty bread, roasted vegetables, or a simple green salad for a complete comfort-food meal that the whole family will love.
