Cheesy Chili Biscuit Bake (3-Ingredient Comfort Casserole)

Cheesy Chili Biscuit Bake (3-Ingredient Comfort Casserole)

There’s something special about a meal that comes together with almost no effort yet feels incredibly comforting. A friend once showed me this simple casserole on a busy weeknight, and it instantly became a favorite. With just three ingredients, you get a warm, hearty dish where fluffy biscuits rise over rich chili, all topped with melted, golden cheddar. It’s the kind of meal that feels like a cozy hug—perfect for chilly evenings when you want something satisfying without spending hours in the kitchen.

Serve it straight from the baking dish and let everyone scoop out generous portions into bowls. It’s filling on its own, but pairing it with a fresh green salad or lightly steamed vegetables adds a nice balance. For a fun twist, you can even serve it with tortilla chips for dipping. A cold drink like iced tea or sparkling water with lime complements the rich, cheesy flavors perfectly.

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

1 (16.3 oz) can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 pieces, homestyle or buttermilk)

2 (15 oz) cans hearty beef chili with beans

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Pour the chili into the dish and spread it evenly to cover the bottom.

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the chili layer.

Arrange the biscuit dough pieces on top of the cheese, spacing them slightly apart to allow room for rising.

Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and fully cooked through, and the chili is bubbling around the edges.

Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Helpful Tips

If the biscuits brown too quickly, loosely cover the dish with foil during the last 10 minutes of baking.

For extra flavor, brush the tops of the biscuits with a little melted butter before baking.

You can swap beef chili for turkey or vegetarian chili depending on your preference.

Simple, warm, and incredibly satisfying—this casserole proves that great comfort food doesn’t need to be complicated.
