Cherry Vanilla Moonshine

Cherry Vanilla Moonshine
Ingredients
2 vanilla bean pods, split lengthwise
16 oz (1 bag) frozen sweet cherries
1 pint good-quality vodka or grain alcohol
Instructions
1. Use a small spoon to scrape the seeds from the vanilla beans into a quart-sized mason jar, then add the beans themselves.
2. Add the frozen cherries to the jar, pour in the vodka or grain alcohol, and shake well to combine.
3. Refrigerate for 3–6 days, shaking the jar once a day. You can enjoy it after a few days, but letting it steep longer intensifies the cherry flavor. I personally liked it after 5 days.
4. If you’re not straining: Keep the moonshine in the fridge; it will last 2–3 weeks.
5. If you’re straining: Once the flavor is to your liking, strain the liquid into a permanent container and store in the fridge or freezer. Properly stored, it can last for years!
Notes
If you plan to drink the moonshine within a few weeks, straining isn’t necessary.
Straining allows long-term storage in the fridge or freezer while keeping the liquid clear and fruit-free.
