Creamy Pasta with Tomato Sauce – Quick & Delicious!

 

 

Ingredients (Serves 4)

400g (14 oz) pasta (penne, fusilli, or spaghetti)

2 tbsp olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups (500 ml) tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes

½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream (or cooking cream)

½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)

½ tsp black pepper

½ tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning

¼ tsp chili flakes (optional)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional but recommended)

Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

 

 

 

Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.

Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.

2️⃣ Prepare the Sauce

Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Add chopped onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes until soft.

Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

3️⃣ Add Tomato & Seasoning

Pour in the tomato sauce.

Add salt, pepper, oregano, and chili flakes.

Let it simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4️⃣ Make It Creamy

Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream.

Let it cook for 2–3 minutes until smooth and creamy.

Add a splash of reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.

5️⃣ Combine

Add the drained pasta to the sauce.

Toss well to coat evenly.

Stir in Parmesan cheese if using.

 

 

Serve

Garnish with fresh basil or parsley.

Add extra Parmesan on top.

Serve hot and enjoy!

Tips

Add grilled chicken or shrimp for extra protein.

For a vegetarian boost, add mushrooms or spinach.

Want it extra rich? Add 1 tbsp butter at the end.
