Jolly Rancher Moonshine
Ingredients:
1 bottle (750 ml) Everclear or grain alcohol
1 bottle (750 ml) fruit-flavored vodka (e.g., watermelon, cherry, green apple)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
Jolly Rancher candies (assorted flavors)
Directions:
Unwrap the Jolly Rancher candies and separate them by flavor into different bowls.
In a large glass jar or container with a tight-fitting lid, combine the Everclear (or grain alcohol) and fruit-flavored vodka.
Add the Jolly Rancher candies to the alcohol mixture. You can use as many or as few candies as you like, depending on how sweet and flavorful you want your moonshine to be.
Seal the jar or container tightly and shake it gently to mix the candies with the alcohol.
Let the mixture sit for at least 24 hours, shaking it occasionally to help dissolve the candies and infuse the flavors into the alcohol.
For the Simple Syrup:
In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water.
Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Remove the saucepan from heat and let the simple syrup cool to room temperature.
After 24 hours:
Strain the infused alcohol mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove any candy residue.
Add the cooled simple syrup to the strained alcohol mixture. Start with about 1 cup of simple syrup and adjust to taste, depending on how sweet you want your moonshine.
Stir well to combine the alcohol and simple syrup.
Bottle the Jolly Rancher Moonshine in clean, airtight containers or mason jars.
4. Store the moonshine in a cool, dark place or in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Serve the Jolly Rancher Moonshine chilled over ice or use it as a flavorful ingredient in cocktails.
