 Easy Apple Cake

A soft, lightly spiced apple cake made with simple pantry ingredients. Perfect for tea time, dessert, or a cozy family treat.

Ingredients

  • 3–4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square pan or similar baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, melted butter, and eggs until smooth and well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped apples until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.

  • Serve warm with tea or coffee
  • Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a simple dessert
  • Store covered at room temperature for up to 2 days
