Golden Cheesy Beef & Potato Bake

A warm, comforting casserole layered with tender potatoes, savory ground beef, and a rich, creamy cheese sauce—perfect for an easy family dinner.

 

 

Ingredients:

4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced

300–400 g ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)

1 can (300 ml) cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup

1/2 cup milk

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)

1 tablespoon olive oil or butter

Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

 

 

 

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Lightly grease a baking dish.

In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the chopped onion until soft. Add garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.

In a bowl, whisk together the cream soup and milk until smooth.

Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish. Spread half of the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes, then pour some of the soup mixture and sprinkle cheese on top.

Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, soup mixture, and finish with the rest of the cheese.

Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly and the potatoes are tender.

Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
