Gordon Ramsay-Inspired Steak Marinade

Gordon Ramsay-Inspired Steak Marinade

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 2/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/3 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a hint of heat)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, olive oil, and dark brown sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well to combine.
  3. Place your steak (such as ribeye, sirloin, or flank) in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish.
  4. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it’s well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably up to 2 hours.
  5. Before cooking, remove the steak from the marinade and let it come to room temperature for about 15 minutes.
  6. Cook the steak using your preferred method—grilling, pan-searing, or broiling—until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
  7. Allow the steak to rest for a few minutes before slicing to retain its juices.

Tips:

  • For added depth, you can incorporate a teaspoon of Dijon mustard or a splash of Worcestershire sauce into the marinade.
  • If you prefer a smoky flavor, consider adding a dash of smoked paprika.
  • Always pat the steak dry before cooking to achieve a better sear.

Enjoy your perfectly marinated steak!
