Ingredients
2 cups whole milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup milk powder (optional, for a thicker texture)
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and sugar over medium heat. Stir continuously until the sugar completely dissolves.
Allow the mixture to simmer gently. Reduce the heat to low and cook for about 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the milk thickens and reduces by nearly half.
Add the butter and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth and creamy.
For an extra rich and thick consistency, whisk in the milk powder until fully blended.
Remove from heat and let the condensed milk cool completely. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
Transfer to a clean jar or airtight container and refrigerate for up to one week.
