Homemade Almond Nutella

A rich, creamy, chocolatey almond spread that’s naturally sweetened and perfect for toast, fruit, or baking!

 

 

Ingredients

  • 300 g (2 cups) dry roasted salted almonds
  • 100 g (3.5 oz) dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted

Instructions

  1. Place the dry roasted almonds into a food processor and blend until they break down into a smooth, runny almond butter. This may take up to 10 minutes depending on your processor’s strength.
  2. Once smooth, add the chopped dark chocolate to the processor and blend until the chocolate melts and fully combines with the almond butter.
  3. Taste and adjust the sweetness with honey. If using salted almonds, add 2–3 tablespoons of honey; if using unsalted almonds, consider adding a small pinch of salt along with the honey. Add the vanilla extract.
  4. Continue blending until the mixture thickens slightly as the honey and vanilla incorporate.
  5. With the processor running, slowly pour in the melted coconut oil and blend for another 1–2 minutes, or until the spread becomes silky and smooth.
  6. Transfer to a jar and enjoy as a spread, dip, or delicious topping for any treat!
