Christmas Cherries in the Snow

- Christmas Cherries in the Snow
A light, creamy, and festive dessert layered with fluffy angel food cake, velvety cream cheese filling, and sweet cherry topping — perfect for the holidays!
Ingredients
- 12 oz block-style cream cheese, room temperature
- ¾ cup powdered sugar, sifted
- ⅓ cup whole milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 8 oz frozen whipped topping, thawed (Cool Whip brand used)
- 1 pre-baked angel food cake (15 oz, 9-inch), torn into ¾–1 inch pieces
- Two 21 oz cans cherry pie filling (Comstock brand used)
Instructions
- Beat the Cream Cheese:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese on medium-high speed for 1–2 minutes until smooth, light, and fluffy. - Add Sugar:
Add the powdered sugar and continue beating until fully incorporated. - Blend in Milk & Vanilla:
Pour in the milk and vanilla extract, then beat again on medium speed until the mixture is creamy and smooth. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl to make sure everything is well mixed. - Fold in Whipped Topping:
Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture until no white streaks remain. - Add Cake Pieces:
Carefully fold the torn angel food cake pieces into the creamy mixture. Mix gently to avoid breaking the cake pieces too much. - Assemble:
Transfer the mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish and spread evenly. - Add Cherry Topping:
Spoon the cherry pie filling evenly over the top.
- Chill & Serve:
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours) to allow the dessert to set and the flavors to meld. Serve chilled and enjoy this festive treat!
