Meatball Stroganoff with Dreamy Cream Sauce

Meatball Stroganoff with Dreamy Cream Sauce
There’s something incredibly comforting about this Meatball Stroganoff — tender beef meatballs simmered in a rich, creamy mushroom sauce that feels like a warm hug in every bite. It’s hearty, flavorful, and irresistibly creamy — my family’s all-time favorite dinner!
Ingredients
- 500 g (1 lb) ground beef
- 1 egg
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Prepare the Meatballs:
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. Shape the mixture into small, bite-sized meatballs. - Brown the Meatballs:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and brown them on all sides. Once golden, remove them from the pan and set aside. - Cook the Mushrooms:
In the same pan, add the sliced mushrooms. Sauté until they’re tender and lightly browned. - Make the Sauce Base:
Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to coat them evenly. Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring constantly to avoid lumps. - Add the Creamy Goodness:
Stir in the sour cream, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. - Combine & Simmer:
Return the meatballs to the pan. Let everything simmer together for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend and the sauce to thicken beautifully. - Serve & Enjoy:
Spoon the creamy stroganoff over buttered noodles, mashed potatoes, or fluffy rice. Garnish with parsley if desired — and enjoy every comforting bite!
