Sour Cherry Moonshine

Sour Cherry Moonshine

Ingredients (Makes ~3 mason jars):
1 cup granulated sugar
4 cups water, divided
1 cup Everclear
2 tablespoons cherry syrup
½ cup cherry vodka
1 cup sour cherry ball candies

Directions:
Make Simple Syrup:
In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the sugar and stir constantly until fully dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature (about 15 minutes).
Mix the Liquids:
In a large pitcher, combine the cooled sugar water, remaining 2 cups of water, Everclear, cherry syrup, and cherry vodka. Stir until well mixed.
Infuse the Moonshine:
Divide the sour cherry ball candies evenly among three 16 oz mason jars. Pour the moonshine mixture over the candies in each jar, filling to the top. Seal the jars tightly with lids.
Chill and Wait:
Place the jars in the refrigerator and let them infuse for 7 days. The candies will dissolve, and the liquid will take on a bold, cherry-red hue.
Strain and Store:
After 1 week, strain the mixture from each jar through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove any candy remnants. Pour the strained moonshine back into clean jars and give each a good shake.
Serve:
Store the jars in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy. Serve chilled, straight, or as a base for cocktails!
