Christmas Popcorn Tin Trio – Sweet, Salty & Festive!

Nothing says Christmas like those big, shiny popcorn tins filled with sweet caramel corn, buttery classic, and cheesy goodness! Here’s how to make your own homemade Christmas Popcorn Tin with three classic flavors — perfect for gifting or cozy movie nights.

Base Recipe: Perfect Popcorn

Ingredients:

½ cup popcorn kernels (about 12 cups popped)

3 tbsp vegetable oil or coconut oil

Salt to taste

Directions:

1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.

2. Add a few kernels — when they pop, add the rest.

3. Cover and shake the pot occasionally until popping slows.

4. Transfer to 3 large bowls (for the 3 flavors).

1. Caramel Popcorn

Ingredients:

1 cup brown sugar

¼ cup light corn syrup (or honey)

½ cup unsalted butter

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Directions:

1. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup.

2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.

3. Let it bubble for 4–5 minutes without stirring.

4. Remove from heat, stir in baking soda and vanilla — it will foam up!

5. Immediately pour over popcorn and toss to coat evenly.

6. Spread on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 250°F (120°C) for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.

7. Cool completely — it’ll crisp up as it cools.

2. Classic Butter Popcorn

Ingredients:

¼ cup melted butter

½ tsp salt (or more to taste)

Directions:

1. Pour melted butter over the plain popcorn.

2. Toss well to coat evenly.

3. Sprinkle with salt and toss again.

Optional: Add a dash of garlic powder or nutritional yeast for a gourmet touch!

3. Cheddar Cheese Popcorn

Ingredients:

½ cup cheddar cheese powder (or white cheddar powder)

2 tbsp melted butter

¼ tsp paprika (optional)

Directions:

1. Drizzle melted butter over popcorn and toss lightly.

2. Sprinkle cheese powder and paprika evenly.

3. Shake or stir until every piece is coated with cheesy magic.

To Assemble the Tin

1. Line your Christmas popcorn tin with parchment paper or small dividers.

2. Add each flavor to its own section — caramel, butter, and cheddar.

3. Seal tightly to keep fresh for up to 2 weeks.

4. Decorate the tin with a festive ribbon or tag.

Optional Add-Ins for Extra Festive Flair:

Caramel popcorn: mix in pecans or drizzle with white chocolate.

Butter popcorn: toss with rosemary or truffle salt.

Cheddar popcorn: mix in pretzels or

spicy peanuts.
